Zlesak and released by Proven Winners ColorChoice as part of the Oso Easy series marketed for extremely easy landscape use. Zlesak, based in Minnesota, selected the cultivar specifically for resistance to multiple black spot races, powdery mildew, and extreme winter hardiness, using modern molecular screening combined with traditional multi-year disease-pressure field trials. 'Oso Easy Double Red' produces continuous clusters of fully double bright red blooms from late spring to heavy frost on compact mounded plants 60 to 90 centimeters tall, and the cultivar requires no spraying and no deadheading.

The series competes with Knock Out roses in the no-fuss landscape market, with sibling cultivars in pink, cherry pink, and peach. Bred by Chris Warner in England and introduced by Proven Winners in the 2010s as part of the Oso Easy series.

Combines old-fashioned rose form with cutting-edge disease resistance, a top performer in independent All-America Rose Selections and American Garden Rose Selections trials.
